Philip Choi
Chair of Board of Directors

Philip Choi has spent the past decade of his career working in nonprofit management. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of British Columbia and an MBA from the University of Saskatchewan.

Philip currently holds the role as the Executive Director of SafetyDriven BC - Trucking Safety Council of BC, bringing an extensive knowledge of leadership and the nonprofit sector. Most importantly, he is an animal lover with members of his family including two cats, two budgies, one dog, one horse and two mini horses.

Andrea Daly
Vice-Chair of Board of Directors

Andrea graduated from Saint Mary’s University with a Bachelor of Commerce before graduating from the University of New Brunswick with a Doctor of Law.

Her impressive background includes legal counsel roles at the Department of Justice and Finance Canada. Currently, she is currently part of the Senior Legal Counsel for Telus in Toronto, Ontario.

Andrea’s experience and extensive list of accomplishments is no match for her kind heart and dedication to using her knowledge and education to better the community.

Dr. Kayla Hyland
Treasurer

Based out of Guelph, Ontario, Kayla is a licensed veterinarian who received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Atlantic Veterinary College.

Kayla is a Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Veterinarian with specialized training in pet bereavement and pet loss.

The work of My Grandfather’s Cat is close to Kayla’s heart, so she volunteers her knowledge to assist with our adoptions and our resource guide.

Sarah Greening
Board Director

Sarah was the very first volunteer of My Grandfather’s Cat. She joined the team in June 2021 and has been essential to the organizations growth, helping in various roles including social media and adoptions.

She graduated with a Bachelor of Public Relations from Mount Saint Vincent University and currently holds the role as Grant Writer for the IWK Foundation in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Sarah has been dedicated to the work of My Grandfather’s Cat since the beginning and brings an extensive amount of knowledge, along with her passion for animals, to the organization.

Dr. Sarah Squinas
Board Director

Based out of Langley, British Columbia, Sarah is a licensed veterinarian who received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Saskatchewan.

She currently works as an equine veterinarian, providing vital care to horses in the lower mainland.

Along with her deep love of animals and passion for making sure all animals find loving homes, Sarah brings her kind nature and generous heart to our organization, helping us further our mission.
