When her senior human became unwell and had to move into a care home, sweet 14-year old Fiona was in need of a second forever home. Her granddaughter initially adopted her, but when Fiona didn’t get along with the other cats in the house, she knew she had a find a home for Fiona where she could be the only cat. That’s when she decided to contact My Grandfather’s Cat.

She began working with our volunteer, Patience, to find Fiona a home in Halifax, Nova Scotia. With her sweet eye and little smile, she was irresistible to our community. Patience interviewed each potential family, but she chose Dan to give Fiona her second forever home.

”I had a moment of weakness after seeing her post. She settled in very well. She’s by my side whether she is sleeping or not. I don’t think things could have gone better.”

Now, more than a year later, Fiona is thriving in her second forever home. She even recently became a big sister to baby Scarlett, and according to her dad she is a very chill big sister.
