When Whitey’s human was diagnosed with severe dementia and had to move to a care home, her beloved cat, Whitey, was in need of a second forever home.

Her family knew the importance of finding him a good home. After six months of searching on their own, someone suggested they contact My Grandfather’s Cat.

They begin working with our volunteer, Melanie, to find a second forever home for Whitey in Red Deer, Alberta. Within three days, a previous MGC applicant, Samuel, stood out as the perfect fit for Whitey. After being interviewed by the family, they agreed he was the best person to adopt Whitey.

Just two days later, Whitey moved in to his home with Samuel.

“He was a little scared right when I brought him home, but the next morning I woke up and he had been laying on me all night. Now he won’t leave my side when I am home. He is a really great cat and I am happy to have him, he was a good match!”
