WELCOME TO THE LATEST EDITION OF MY GRANDFATHER’S TALES
We’re so excited to share with you the work we’ve been doing and the milestones we have met over the last three months.
meet our volunteer veternarians
We’d like to introduce you to two incredible members of our team — our volunteer veterinarians.
Dr. Kayla Hyland and Dr. Sarah Squinas are both members of our board of directors who provide guidance on care and emergency veterinary expenses for our adoptables and contribute their knowledge to our resource guide.
They are both compassionate animal lovers. Kayla has four cats, two guinea pigs and 21 fish, while Sarah has two cats, two budgies, one dog, one horse and two mini horses.
300 second forever homes
We have officially found more than 300 second forever homes 🤍
When I started this charity, I never could have imagined how many milestones we’d celebrate so quickly — and it’s all because of you.
You chose to adopt through us, you chose to donate to support our work, and you continue to share every post to help cats find homes. Your kindness is MGC exists and I'm so grateful for you.
our recent adoptions
Lilly
When her senior human’s dementia progressed and she had to move into a long-term care home, her beloved 17-year-old cat, Lilly, was in need of a second forever home.
Chester
Chester was adopted by his senior human as a kitten from the town of Chester, Nova Scotia. Four years later, when she unexpectedly passed away, and this sweet boy was in need of a second forever home.
Kitty and Baby
When a lady passed away, she left behind her two beloved cats, Kitty and Baby. They temporarily moved in with her sister in rural Alberta, but they were in need of a second forever home. That’s when her daughter contacted My Grandfather’s Cat.
“Even if the long-term care home did allow pets, my mom’s dementia is too far gone and she wouldn’t have been able to care for her. I take great comfort knowing Lilly is going to someone who wants to give her lots of love. What MGC does matters, you make a difference in lives.”
