When their senior human was moving into a retirement home for additional care, her beloved cats, Amber and Barney, couldn’t go with her. Her daughter-in-law was able to house them temporarily, but they were in need of a second forever home. That’s when she contacted My Grandfather’s Cat.

She began working with our volunteer, Patience, to find them a home in Cobourg, Ontario. Their profile went out to our community in January. A few families inquired, but we knew we had to be patient to find this 12-year-old duo a home.

In March, our a reel went out to our community featuring Amber and Barney and they caught the eye of many families. After interviewing each applicant, the family chose Julia, her husband and twin daughters to be their second forever home.
