Jake spent the first few years of his life wondering from home to home in Chester, Nova Scotia, looking for someone to feed and love him. That is until the day he made his way into a senior lady’s yard. Jake was shy and timid at first, but full of love once she took the time to earn his trust. So, she decided to adopt him.

Years later, when Jake’s senior human went into palliative care, this sweet boy was in need of a second forever home. While one of her care workers was able to house him temporarily, Jake was in need of a family that could give him the love he deserved. That’s when she contacted My Grandfather’s Cat.

She began working with volunteer, Kelsey, to write Jake’s profile and get the word out to our community. While his green eyes were and sweet face were irresistible, the team worried he may not receive many applications because of his unique feature — he only has three legs.

Jake’s missing leg never slowed him down, nor did it slow down our community. Jake began to receive applications almost immediately. After a couple meet-and-greets, a second forever home was found. Jake settled in nicely and now has the family and the love he always wanted.
