Kitty and Baby

When a lady passed away, she left behind her two beloved cats, Kitty and Baby. They temporarily moved in with her sister in rural Alberta, but they were in need of a second forever home. That’s when her daughter contacted My Grandfather’s Cat.

They began working with our volunteer, Alex, to find Kitty and Baby a home in Dewberry, Alberta. As the town only has 189 residents, MGC began running ads to reach families in nearby cities. That’s when the Dilworth family saw their post.

The Dilworth family had recently moved back to rural Alberta from Ontario after the tragic loss of their Dad. Their Mom was an incredible support to her children, but the reality of their grief and life changes were apparent. When she saw Kitty and Baby’s post, she knew they were just what her children needed.

The Dilworth family adopted Kitty and Baby a few days later. According to their Mom, the kids were more excited than they are on Christmas morning. Now, two months later, Kitty and Baby are thriving in their new home, and are bringing up most joy to their new siblings. Out of these two hearting breaking tragedies, they created one beautiful second forever family.
