Lucy

Lucy was brought to her veterinarian to be temporarily boarded while her senior human moved into a care home. During the move, her human’s health declined rapidly and she wasn’t able to bring Lucy with her. As family members were not able to adopt her, an incredible staff member named Kelly decided to temporarily foster Lucy and contact MGC to help.

The team began working with our volunteer, Sara, to find Lucy a second forever home in Mississauga, Ontario. Her beautiful features and classic calico ways were irresistible, so applications began to come in. After both Sara, Kelly and a veterinarian interviewed the applicants, they decided Naomi was the perfect person to adopt her.

“I picked up Lucy from Kelly on Friday night and wanted to let you know that she is settling in well. She seems very calm and is seeking lots of attention — we're really enjoying getting to know one another!”

Many veterinarians and their teams go beyond the call of duty for their patients. They often help rehome animals, foster their patients and have even gone as far as adopt their patients. Thank you to Kelly, Meaghan and the entire team at McCleary Animal Hospital for going above and beyond for Lucy. We are so grateful for people like you.
