mary margaret and tinkerbell
When their human was diagnosed with a terminal illness, his first thought was his beloved cats, Mary Margaret and Tinkerbell. He worried about what would happen to them, as he knew no one in their family would be able to adopt them. That’s when his step-daughter contacted My Grandfather’s Cat.
She began working with our volunteer, Patience, to find the girls a home in Nova Scotia. As their profile was posted during July, and less families adopt during the summer months, it took time for their second forever family to come along.
Meanwhile, Leslie and her husband from Halifax, Nova Scotia, had applied for another adoptable, Cole, but as he had already been adopted, our volunteer, Vivian, asked if they’d be interested in Mary Margaret and Tinkerbell.
The couple instantly fell in love with their sweet faces and applied. The step-daughter knew they were the perfect fit to give her dad’s best friends their second forever home. The next week, the girls moved into their new home where they will be loved for the rest of their lives.
