Penny and Rifiki

When a senior lady passed away, her beloved cats, Penny and Rifiki, were in need of a second forever home. They were the best of friends, so her son-in-law knew they had to stay together. He tried to find a home for them, but he didn’t have luck. So he decided to contact My Grandfather’s Cat.

He began working with our volunteer, Diane, to find the pair a home in Brampton, Ontario. He was prepared to interview many applicants and wait as long as it took to find them the second forever home his mother-in-law would have wanted, but much to his surprise the first applicant, Karen, was the perfect fit.

They moved in with Karen a few days later. While Rifiki settled in immediately, Penny took a little more time — but with the comfort of her brother and her incredibly patient new family, she is now happy in her second forever home.
