When his senior human was diagnosed with terminal cancer, she chose to move in with her son and his wife. But as her son is severely allergic to cats, she couldn’t bring her best friend, Peter, with her. That’s when her family contacted My Grandfather’s Cat.

They began working with our volunteer Bec to find a second forever home for Peter in Toronto, Ontario. A few families applied, and they were able to choose a lovely family to adopt Peter in October when his human moved, so he can stay with her up until the very last day until she moves.

Even when an adoption is simple, it is life-changing for the senior, their family and the beloved animal. Our service provides comfort and help alleviate pressure on local shelters.
