When his human suddenly passed away, her best friend, Felix, was in need of a home. His human's daughter took him in temporarily with the intent to find him the best second forever home. That’s when she decided to contact My Grandfather’s Cat.

She began working with our volunteer, Lianne, to find Felix a home in Halifax, Nova Scotia. His sweet face was irresistible and applications began to roll in immediately. Meanwhile, Felix was settling into his temporary home and, oddly enough, he began snuggling with their family dog. When the daughter noticed Felix’s love of dogs, she decided to look at applicants that already had a dog, and one very unique family stood out.

This family had a cat and dog who were the best of friends, until their cat passed away. Ever since, their dog had been heartbroken and lonely, so they were searching for a dog loving cat to fill the void left in the home. The two families decided to do a meet and greet, and their dog and Felix instantly fell in love.

The two families agreed it was a perfect fit and they adopted Felix that day. Now, their family is once again complete and everyone has the comfort of knowing Felix is in a home where he is loved and has new best friend.
