When a senior lady passed away, she left behind her beloved 14 year-old cat, Jely Bene. Her family knew that Jely Bene had so much life and love left to give to a human, so they contacted My Grandfather’s Cat.

They began working with our volunteer, Grace, to find Jely Bene a second forever home in Barrie, Ontario. As soon as our community saw his fluffy face and green eyes, the applications began to roll in.

Jely Bene got his name (and the spelling) by the senior lady’s four-year-old granddaughter, so each interview started with the cute story of how Jely Bene was named.

After interviewing many applicants, the family chose David and Phyllis to be his second forever family. As the couple is retired, they plan to spend their days loving Jely Bene.
