When a senior lady developed dementia and moved into a care home, her sweet cat, Katniss, was in need of a home. Her son and daughter-in-law took Katniss in, but she was accustomed to a quiet home and didn’t get along with their cats and children. So, they set out to find her a second forever home and decided to contact My Grandfather’s Cat.

They began working with a volunteer to find Katniss a second forever home in Tantallon, Nova Scotia. Her sweet face and big eyes were irresistible to our community and applications began to roll in as soon as her profile was posting.

After interviewing multiple families, they chose Sondra and her husband to adopt Katniss and be her second forever family. She settled in quickly, and now she spends her days following her mom around the house, looking out windows, playing in boxes, and chasing string.
