When a senior was diagnosed with cancer and needed to move into hospice, her best friend Pepper was in need of a second forever home. That’s when her daughter contacted My Grandfather’s Cat.
They began working with our volunteer, Mackenzie, to find a second forever home for Pepper in Dundas, Ontario. Her profile went out to our community in December, one of the slowest times of the year for adoptions, so the family was prepared that they may receive fewer applications.
Within a few days, families began to apply but one family stood out — Ted and Carol. The couple believed in the work of MGC and was eager to adopt through us. After chatting with the senior and their daughter, they decided they’d be the perfect fit to adopt Pepper.
Ted was able to pick up Pepper on Thursday — just one day before the senior moved into hospice.
“I feel because of the timing it was all meant to be. Thank you for your help. I will do all I can to promote and spread the good work on this charitable organization.”
